S3787, ESC 215A. LIX edge, no edge stops. Little wear, but with a few contact marks and deeply toned. Previously graded ICCS AU-50, insert label with coin. This scarce variety books at £450 EF in Spink 2010, but this piece additionally has two clear, unrecorded features in any literature. The reverse die has the S of SOIT over a lower S touching the inner wire and the following O is cut over an O of about half the size. Presumably rare and a new variety to this writer. (2035)
