1863 proof halfpenny. This has a large 3 in the date (slightly different to the currency large 3). According to Freeman this was unknown, but this was surely a typo error as the small 3 was listed as a proof.. Nicely toned with a good crisp strike. Ex-Dr J Mangahas 464, Spink 75, 29/3/1990 (incorrectly listed as Freeman 294A) & Dr B Nicholson 395, collection sold by Colin Cooke. Practically as struck.
