S3452, P-. William & Mary 1694 halfpenny with the first two letters of the obverse legend struck over a B as the engraver presumably started the reverse legend in error. The error clear. First noted in August 2004 by Colin Cooke when illustrated on his website at the time (this coin). I can find no other examples listed in past sales and is certainly extremely rare, possibly excessively so. Weight 10.39g.
Problem free, toned with a little wear to the high points. A higher grade example of this single year issue than usually encountered.
S3221, N2728. Commonwealth ND halfgroat. Weight 0.97g. Slight peripheral weakness, but little actual wear with full hatching to the shield on both sides. Cleanly struck and much better than average....
