S3452, P-. William & Mary 1694 halfpenny with the first two letters of the obverse legend struck over a B as the engraver presumably started the reverse legend in error. The error clear. First noted in August 2004 by Colin Cooke when illustrated on his website at the time (this coin). I can find no other examples listed in past sales and is certainly extremely rare, possibly excessively so. Weight 10.39g.
Problem free, toned with a little wear to the high points. A higher grade example of this single year issue than usually encountered.
