S3016, Morrieson C-3. Charles I 1644 shilling struck at Bristol. This die combination was not known to Morrieson when he wrote his fairly comprehensive article in the 1925-6 BNJ, nor was there an example in the extensive Brooker collection dispersed by Spink around 1980. Weight 5.78g. Extremely rare with only 3 known to me.
Some wear to the higher points and a lot of eye appeal with iridescent green, blue and gold tones.
