Possibly a lovers' keepsake based on the translation 'On the Bassano Bridge we will give each other our hand / In memory of the glorious bridge and the bold Alpini, 3rd October 1948'. Approx. 28 x 32mm. The Ponte degli Alpini in Bassano del Grappa was destroyed in WW2 and rebuilt by the Italian military (the Alpini) in 1948.
