A first edition copy of Montagu's reference book, The Copper, Tin and Bronze Coinage and Patterns for Coins of England, published in 1885. Covering issues from Elizabeth to Victoria, it was the first published reference for regal base metal coinage. Hardback. 91pp with illustrations, the pages printed on both sides but untrimmed, then bound in larger than normal boards measuring 284 x 212mm. A printer's proof copy(?). Rare thus.
The pages very crisp and virtually as made. The covers with some scuffs front and back particularly at the corners, but overall in very good condition.
